10:39 AM , 0 Comments

Situated at a distance of about 11 kilometers from Jaipur, Amer Fort was built in 1592 by Raja Mann Singh I. It is one of the tourist attractions of Rajasthan as well as one of the famous historical place of India. A blend of traditional Hindu and Rajputana architecture, the fort has been aesthetically designed out of marble and red sandstone. The Maotha Lake adds a certain charm to the entire Fort. Every year Too many tourists came in Amer fort to see awesome architecture of Amer fort and beauty of Jaipur.

This magnificent fort is largely made up of a royal palace, built from pale yellow and pink sandstone and white marble, and divided into four main sections, each with its own courtyard. Amer fort is really very beautiful from inside. It includes popular buildings which are Sheesh Mahal, Sukh Mahal, Diwan - i - Aam and Diwan-e-Khaas. Amer fort also includes Shila devi temple and Ganesh Pol. You can trudge up to the fort from the road in about 10 minutes, but riding up on elephant back is very popular.

As the sun sets, the refection of the fort in the Maotha Lake that flows in front of the fort looks stunning. The rustic edifice looks rugged and mysterious from outside and is astonishingly gorgeous and serene if its interiors are concerned. Elaborate wall paintings, intricate décor, traditional mirror-work art of Gujarat, its gateways, halls, latticed galleries and pavilions – all validate one fact, i.e., Amer Fort is deeply rooted into ages of history and have experienced an era of invasions, of royalty and struggle.

Amer was once known as Dhundar and was ruled by the Kachhwahas from the 11th to the 16th century, until the capital was moved from here to Jaipur. Raja Man Singh built this fort in 1592 AD and Raja Jai Sigh I expanded and renovated it later. While many such old structures have been either destroyed or replaced by other things, this fort has stood against all the tests of time and invasions.

Be ready for a royal, musical welcome to the fort with Nagadas (huge drums) being played for the visitors. You will find a few entertainers around the fort, singers and snake charmers. You may also like to attend the sound and light show in the evening.
